Q. What have you done through DTUEC?  Q. How did you find out about the course.
A. As Senior Steward I attend all corporate meetings plus depot related meetings in my primary role as a Decorator for Public Buildings. I also work with members on issues daily including personnel related activity.
A. The courses I have attended have helped me by getting a better awareness of my role and responsibilities including a better knowledge associated with legal aspects.  Q. Which aspects of the courses were the most help? A. I felt the Tutors involved were very good and supportive to all members on the course. I particularly valued the role play and the work on negotiating skills. I have also improved my Computer Skills and am able to source information using a Computer as required. It has all helped me in my Union role.
A.  As a Union Rep I thought I could do a good job and I wanted to promote fairness and equality for my Union Members.
A. I love my role and enjoy the challenge of resolving problems to the benefit of members.
A. I am at my best when resolving issues for members and any general representation. The role gives me a great sense of achievement and satisfaction.
A. I plan to complete my full Union Learning Representative course and my Stage 2 Health and Safety course.
A. Attend the courses at the Trade Union Education Centre, they will build on your knowledge, skills and experience. I also found that I have built my self confidence in the process.
A. I am now inspired to pursue other training courses and have found learning really enjoyable and not like my School day's! |
